Hey CC,

I just listened to this episode of MTG. It got me thinking about the music industry. Imagine if they had embraced this stuff back in the day? Imagine if Metallica figured out a way to make Napster cool? Smith gets it mostly because he has to - he's just that smart. I see tons of musicians using social media now... and now, they don't need major labels.

Great episode - it got me thinking... that's what counts.

I too am amazed how much non-traditional advertising the flick did. In addition to the MySpace and YouTube advertising you mentioned, they also promoted the flick heavily on iTunes and on Apple.com - where a special Clerks 2 featurette was posted for quite some time. Have you seen the movie yet? I went and saw it last night and loved it. This is how sequels should be.

Hey CC, Kevin Smith was interviewed on a video podcast back in February. It's a couple of hours long; they talked about his whole career and had to split it into two shows. Oh and they had to shoot it from Kevin's office. Sucks to be a podcaster, don't it ;)
