Every Day is a Good Day

listen to managing the gray

I needed to podcast today. I had to brain dump and get some thoughts out there. No notes. No prep. Just me, a cup of coffee, the microphone and CastBlaster. Some great call ins and topics including influencer outreach, productivity and how I’m liking my new Mac. Even a mini rant on how important it is for companies and individuals to be involved in the conversation rather then just monitoring it.

Hey CC, listening to your podcast and am following up on your call for productivity tools. One thing I use to get things done (rather than always having lots of things going and never finishing any of them) is this page: http://www.marktaw.com/getbacktowork.htm

I use it to focus on one task at a time. I wish it didn’t register a ‘fail’ if you didn’t finish on time, but the idea works well for me.

I love the idea of Jott too. I record my ideas on my phone (I can record without making a call on my phone). But Jott offers an email and transcription, that is so much better. So, thanks to Dave for sharing that info too.

Great show, C.C.! Thanks for playing my comment.

    Thanks C.C.
The time I use Jott.com most is driving, when taking notes just isn’t possible. Check it out some time.

    Cheers,
    Dave

Thanks C.C. Great show, always insightful.

I love using my Mac and plan to get a new macBook Pro soon, but I definitely heard what you said about them dropping the ball as far as your dealings with them are concerned.

What I’m wondering is, now that you have a Mac, how are you using CastBlaster? I thought it was a PC only app, or do you use another machine for podcasting?

Hi again C.C. Just wanted to come back and say thanks for having coComment on your blog. I just signed up. Loving it so far – seems like a great social media tool.

I really liked it when you said that you weren’t a phone guy because that’s exactly how I am too! I try to channel all communication through email because it’s in writing, because I can compose my thoughts before I send them, and it gives me personal space away from the person. I find the phone very hard to deal with because I can’t see the person.

I neglect my mobile and rarely take it with me. I don’t have anyone to call!

I’ve felt guilty for years about avoiding phones because hardly anyone I’ve met feels the same way. I think they would think I’m odd. It’s good to know that someone else isn’t “a phone guy”.

    CC,

For productivity I use iGTD on mac. It does have sync ability, but I don’t use it.

I have read that ‘remember the milk’ has been installed with Google Gears enabling online web 2.0 stuff to be run offline. That might just be what you’re after…

    Enjoy,
    Michael.

    Yo CC,
Left you a pic (http://flickr.com/photos/jeremyvaught/538217224/) of me listening to Managing the Grey cuz you asked about where we listen. I generally listen when I’m on the move (driving, walking, running, flying) or doing mindless activities like housework.

Also, I too don’t like the phone. There are certainly times when talking is better then text, but just for the quick stuff, text rules.

    Thanks again CC, great show,
    Jeremy Vaught

Michael above mentioned iGTD – it is an awesome app CC and syncs with your iCal and .Mac account. (I hope you sprang for the dot mac account; it’s worth it!)

    Here’s the link to iGTD.
