		<description>This is my first blog post ever!  I just bought an ipod last week and I&#039;m enjoying listening to podcasts.  I listened to this specific podcast and wanted to respond to something you said toward the end. 

You described how you reviewed a book on a podcast which motivated another person to buy the book.  You said that this type of information is difficult, if not impossible, to capture.

As a professional marketer, I&#039;m always looking for ways to track such things.  I&#039;d like to suggest an example of one way that it could be done.   What if the publisher authorizes, say, a 20% discount for any of your listeners who order the book thru the publisher&#039;s website?  You could mention the offer in the podcast &amp; post it on your site.  The buyer could enter a coupon code like GRAY when they order.  Of course, you&#039;d need to convey it so that it sounds like a unique opportunity (rather than an ad) or you  may &quot;turn off&quot; some listeners.

It&#039;s not bullet-proof, but I believe it would be a great start.  What do you think?

I&#039;m going to start my own blog very soon--maybe this could be one of my ponderings.
