Tribes and The Truth About You

listen to managing the gray

I have been trying to make sure that I read more and more as it is something that I love, but know that with my schedule must make time for if I’m going to do it. Since I’ve been reading more I wanted to give you two quick reviews of two books that I really think you’ll enjoy and that as a member the Managing the Gray tribe would be of interest to you.

The two books reviewed on today’s show are:

While I’m not far enough to do a real review of it, I also mentioned that I’m currently reading Iconoclast : A Neuroscientist Reveals How to Think Differently by Gregory Berns. So far it is heavy ready, but worth it.

If you’ve read any of these books please leave your thoughts about them in the comments.

What books are you reading that I should be?

Great post, and I just called in a voicemail msg.

What you should be reading: Made to Stick by Dan and Chip Heath
    Buying In by Rob Walker
and there’s a new book coming out called Buyology by Martin Lindstrom that looks at how our brains react to advertising messages. I’ve only read 2 chapters, but have found it fascinating.

And a disclosure: I work for the publisher of all of these titles, but they are genuine recommendations that I would make even if I weren’t affiliated.

Enjoy, and thanks for a great episode.

I finished up Tribes this weekend, it was very enjoyable. I plan on picking up The Truth about You tonight, I’ve been meaning to get back to it.

I’m also reading Neil Gaiman’s “The Graveyard Book” which is a great, creepy story, perfect for this time of year.

[...] Seth uses some very good real world examples throughout the book but this analogy did have any meaning for me at all. I got it, I just didn’t think it added anything to the narrative. That being said, I know that some people (including the well-respected C.C. Chapman thought that this analogy was fantastic). [...]
