I guess that I feel like we're all trying to define ourselves into silos like we do in our 'business' lives. And I totally agree where you went with this because I'm a dad, but also I'm a son, a husband, a shopper an uncle and plenty more. Sure, I suppose you can tag me with any of these, but I certainly feel like I'm a combination of them all and not just one or the other. Certainly gives me food for thought at work too, as we're trying to flush out some target personas right now - making sure we're not to one dimensional with them. Thanks for the rant! Old media has the same issue. All the parenting magazines are geared purely towards mothers. Not a single one has anything for dads, in spite of their names - Parenting and Parents stand out as obvious examples. Also - yes yes yes on the dad being portrayed as a bumbling idiot.
